easy spaghetti sauce recipes



Here's a recipe for a classic Italian spaghetti sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) of crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup red wine (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, for garnish
  • Instructions:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente.
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes, red wine (if using), tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 20 minutes.
  • Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta.
  • Serve immediately, with chopped fresh basil on top.
