healthy baked pasta recipes


Here's a simple recipe for baked pasta:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) pasta, such as ziti or penne
  • 1 jar (24 oz/700g) of marinara sauce
  • 2 cups (450g) of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup (225g) of ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) of heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch (23x33 cm) baking dish.
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, heavy cream, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. Add half of the cooked pasta and top it with half of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layering process with the remaining pasta and cheese mixture.
  6. Pour the remaining marinara sauce on top and spread it evenly.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  9. Let the baked pasta cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
