 Tteokbokki Recipe:

Ingredients:

1. 1 pound tteok (Korean rice cakes)

2. 4 cups water

3. 3/4 cup gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)

4. 1/4 cup sugar

5. 1 tablespoon soy sauce

6. 1 tablespoon minced garlic

7. 1 tablespoon sesame oil

8. 4 hard-boiled eggs (optional)

9. 2-3 green onions, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

1. Soak the rice cakes in cold water for 30 minutes to soften them.

2. In a saucepan, combine the water, gochujang, sugar, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce comes to a boil.

3. Add the rice cakes to the sauce and stir to coat them evenly.

4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the rice cakes are soft and the sauce has thickened.

5. Stir in the sesame oil.

6. If desired, serve the tteokbokki with hard-boiled eggs and chopped green onions on top.
