 Recipe: Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients:

1. 1 lb ground chicken or turkey

2. 1 tbsp vegetable oil

3. 1/2 cup diced onion

4. 2 garlic cloves, minced

5. 1 tbsp soy sauce

6. 1 tbsp hoisin sauce

7. 1 tbsp rice vinegar

8. 1 tbsp brown sugar

9. 1 tsp sesame oil

10. 1/2 tsp ground ginger

11. 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

12. Salt and pepper to taste

13. Lettuce leaves

Optional toppings: sliced green onions, chopped peanuts, diced red bell pepper

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add vegetable oil and diced onion to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the onion is softened.

3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 30 seconds.

4. Add ground chicken or turkey to the skillet and cook, breaking up any clumps with a spatula, until browned and cooked through.

5. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

6. Pour the sauce over the cooked meat and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.

7. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

8. To serve, spoon the meat mixture onto lettuce leaves and top with sliced green onions, chopped peanuts, and diced red bell pepper, if desired.

Cook time: 15-20 minutes

Temperature: medium-high heat (for cooking meat in the skillet)
